Assures physician and mid-level practitioner privileges are posted accurately for access by physicians, administration, and hospital staff.
Serves as liaison between the hospital and medical staff, providing service and information regarding their privileges and administrative needs.
Performs administrative duties as delegated by the chief of staff, medical staff officers, and committee chairs.
Prepares agendas, documentation, and records minutes for Credentials, Medical Executive, General Staff, and Bylaws Committee meetings.
Collects and verifies information required when physicians request additional privileges, ensuring criteria are met.
Organizes a nominating committee every two years to vote in Medical Staff Officers for the upcoming term.
Prepares and distributes Emergency Room Call Schedule in a timely manner.
Supervises the Medical Staff Office and participates in the hiring, counseling/evaluation, and disciplinary process.
Monitors and updates the Medical Staff database and distributes updates regarding the medical staff and their privileges on a monthly basis.
Coordinates the appointment, reappointment, and privileging process for assigned hospitals, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Researches credentialing, privileging, Bylaws, and Rules & Regulations issues to present competent practitioners for approval.
Provides monthly updates of credentialing actions to leadership following approval by the Board of Directors.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access database. Required
Proficient in credentialing database software, preferably MSOW, MSONet; knowledge of Morrissey credentialing software is beneficial, with willingness to complete training and exhibit proficiency within a specified time frame. Required
Comprehensive knowledge of primary source verification processes and procedures. Required
In-depth knowledge of Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Joint Commission standards; familiarity with HFAP standards is also valuable. Required
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate effectively with medical staff, hospital departments, and all levels of management. Required
Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer, telephone, fax machine, scanner, copier, and printer, as well as hospital computer systems and telecommunications equipment. Required
Familiarity with IT concepts and Windows based software; ability to work with web-based applications. Required
Knowledge of regulatory aspects of healthcare, quality improvement principles, and current clinical standards and policies. Required
Strong organization, negotiation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Required
Ability to work independently or in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Required
Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to handle conflict. Required
Knowledge of medical terminology and CPMSM and/or CPCS certification or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe. Required
