American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) travel assignment requiring a GA or compact RN license, BLS, and a minimum of 1 year of hospital Med/Surg experience.

Acute Care Med/Surg unit with 36 beds in a hospital setting
-
Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, AMS, and sepsis
-
Patient ratios: RN/LPN 6:1, CNA 12:1
-
Telemetry monitoring is present on the unit; nurses are not required to read strips
-
EMR: MEDITECH
-
12-hour day shifts, 7a–7p
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required
-
Occasional floating required
-
Hospitalist in-house 24/7
-
Respiratory therapy available 24/7
-
No dedicated IV team; PICC team may be consulted as needed
-
17-week contract
-
Active GA or compact RN license required
-
Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS

ACLS preferred

Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital Med/Surg unit

MEDITECH experience beneficial

Driver's license required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (measured from the address on their driver's license)

Charge nurses and nurse aides are present on the unit
-
Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts

Scrub colors required: white tops and hunter green pants
-
Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement

Any time off or scheduling requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
