Western Trailers is hiring an experienced Trailer Mechanic for our Vancouver service location. This is a hands-on repair position working on semi-truck trailers. We are a small shop and need someone who can step in and work independently. This is not an entry-level role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnosing and repairing semi-truck trailers
- Brake jobs and air brake system repairs
- Air system repairs
- Trailer electrical troubleshooting (lights, wiring, ABS)
- Minor welding and metal repairs (steel & aluminum)
- General trailer maintenance and service work
Required Experience
- Semi-truck trailer repair experience
- Air brake systems
- Trailer air systems
- Trailer electrical systems
- Trailer ABS systems
- Required Skills
- Basic welding (steel and aluminum)
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Basic metal fabrication
Requirements
- 1+ year of trailer repair experience
- Must have your own basic tools
- Able to work independently in a small shop environment
- Dependable with good attendance
- Able to perform physical, hands-on labor throughout the day
Physical Requirements
- On your feet most of the day
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Working in a shop environment
Important: Welding experience alone does not qualify for this position. We are specifically looking for experience in trailer repair.
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
