Position Overview
The Contract Telehealth Outpatient Therapist & Human Trafficking Advocate is a fully remote, 1099 independent contractor providing trauma-informed, survivor-centered clinical services via secure telehealth platforms to individuals impacted by trafficking, exploitation, and related trauma.
The contractor maintains professional autonomy while adhering to program policies, ethical standards, and grant requirements. Services are delivered remotely to survivors within designated service areas.
Scope of WorkClinical Services (Telehealth-Based)
- Provide individual trauma-informed therapy via secure video platform
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate virtual weekly group therapy sessions for trafficking survivors
- Support development of virtual peer-led survivor support groups
- Provide psychoeducation on trauma bonding, coercive control, exploitation dynamics, and recovery
- Conduct safety planning and crisis intervention remotely
- Utilize evidence-based modalities including:
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- EMDR (if trained and appropriate for telehealth)
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills
- Motivational Interviewing
- Harm reduction approaches
- Screen for and address co-occurring disorders (PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use, dissociation)
Advocacy & Coordination (Remote)
- Provide survivor-centered advocacy and empowerment-based support
- Coordinate referrals for housing, medical care, legal aid, substance use treatment, employment, and victim compensation
- Participate virtually in multidisciplinary team meetings when appropriate
- Provide virtual court preparation support as needed
- Offer remote community education and consultation on trafficking identification and trauma-informed care
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic clinical documentation
- Complete required funding agency and state reporting documentation
- Track service delivery metrics and outcome measures
- Comply with HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and mandatory reporting laws
- Participate in virtual supervision or consultation as required
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field
- Active, unrestricted state licensure (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) in service state(s)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience working with trauma survivors
- Experience facilitating group therapy
- Knowledge of human trafficking dynamics and exploitation patterns
- Ability to independently manage caseload and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized trauma training (EMDR, CPT, TF-CBT, DBT)
- Experience working with survivors of sexual exploitation or trafficking
- Experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders
- Bilingual preferred
- Prior telehealth service experience

Independent Contractor Structure
- 1099 contract position
- Contractor sets availability within program needs
- Compensation per session/hour (to be determined)
- Contractor responsible for maintaining licensure, liability insurance, and CE requirements
- Contractor provides services using secure telehealth platform (platform provided or approved by organization)

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
