Shipping Clerk
We are searching for an experienced Shipping Clerk at our Grove City, OH facility.
Job Overview:
HMF Express is looking for a proactive and experienced Shipping Team member to assist the shipping team and manage the processes that ensure on-time delivery of products to customer locations. The candidate will play a critical role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, while leading by example in maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Asisist/lead the shipping team and processes to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
- Coordinate packaging and shipping processes to meet daily shipment goals.
- Work with production teams to ensure proper packaging of products in line with company standards and customer expectations.
- Ensure the production and output of high-quality parts and services while maintaining adherence to company standards.
- Lead by example and foster a respectful and safe working environment.
- Conduct start-up meetings and participate in relevant events as needed.
- Play a key role in developing team members through continuous learning, coaching, and improvement initiatives.
- Promote and implement continuous improvement ideas across the team.
- Ensure daily adherence to lean manufacturing principles like 5S and waste elimination.
- Lead or actively participate in process improvement events and initiatives.
- Ensure that best practices are sustained, reviewed, and improved as necessary.
- Fill in for absent team members when required.
- Track and report daily attendance and other performance metrics.
- Coordinate and assist other team leaders as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Behaviors:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- Positive attitude and ability to lead a team to achieve results.
- Ability to teach and mentor team members.
- Process-oriented thinker with mastery of 5S, waste elimination, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, 5 whys).
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- In-depth knowledge of assigned product lines and processes.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to HMF Express' mission and values.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and others.
Required Training & Safety Equipment:
5S skills are strongly preferred
Safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection are mandatory on the shop floor.
Gloves must be worn when handling heavy, sharp, or dangerous materials.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Exposure to production shop conditions including moving mechanical equipment, fumes, heat, and cold.
Must sit, walk, or stand for eight or more hours and lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
