Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher to inspire middle and high school students (Grades 6–12) in coding, hardware engineering, and computational thinking. In this role, you will design and deliver hands-on, project-based coursework ranging from foundational introductory classes to advanced computer science principles. Beyond the classroom, you will help cultivate tech enthusiasm by advising our extracurricular robotics and eSports teams.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Design
- Teach introductory and advanced computer science courses to students in grades 6 through 12.
- Guide students through hands-on hardware engineering and physical computing projects.
- Develop daily lesson plans, interactive lab exercises, and practical coding projects tailored to diverse learning styles.
Student Progress & Classroom Management
- Grade assignments, exams, and project submissions promptly, delivering constructive feedback.
- Track individual academic progress, manage grade books, and communicate growth areas with parents and administrative staff.
- Establish a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment to manage student behavior effectively.
Lab Maintenance & Technical Support
- Maintain classroom hardware, laptops, computer workstations, and specialized lab equipment to ensure a safe and functional learning space.
- Install, update, and troubleshoot instructional software, development environments, and hardware equipment.
Co-curricular & Leadership
- Serve as the faculty advisor and moderator for the school’s Robotics Team and eSports Team, guiding students in competitions, strategy, and teamwork.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide events.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, STEM, or Education (Master's preferred).
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in block-based languages and text-based coding languages. Hands-on familiarity with physical computing hardware.
- Skills: Excellent classroom management, strong verbal and written communication, and a passion for mentoring middle and high school youth.
