Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
- Assess patient oral health status through thorough examinations and document findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems).
- Take and interpret vital signs and medical imaging to support accurate patient assessments.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license with current certification in your state or region.
- Proven experience working in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinics with a focus on patient care.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards.
- Experience with chairside assisting, taking vital signs, medical coding, and reviewing documentation for accuracy.
- Ability to perform pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary and adapt communication style for pediatric patients.
Pay: $50.00 - $51.00 per hour
