Position Summary
The Site Director is responsible for the daily management, coordination, and oversight of the Community 4 Success after-school and summer programs. This position ensures compliance with all DYCD and DOE regulations while maintaining the highest standards of program quality, staff performance, and student engagement.
The Site Director provides direct supervision to program staff, supports curriculum implementation, manages budgets, and fosters strong relationships with families, schools, and community partners. This role is essential to achieving C4S’s mission of promoting equity, engagement, and empowerment through dynamic, community-rooted youth programming.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field required
- Master’s Degree in Education preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in youth development, education, or after-school programs
- Knowledge of youth, family, and teen development
- Experience in program design, staff supervision, budget management, and compliance documentation
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, and technology skills
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards and NYC Arts Blueprint
- Experience reviewing curriculum and lesson plans
- Strong leadership, organization, and attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage teams, resolve conflicts, and support professional growth
- Culturally responsive and trauma-informed mindset
- Knowledge of DYCD and DOH mandates preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and operate office and classroom equipment
- Occasionally required to lift or move up to 40 lbs
- May be required to work at multiple program sites in Southeast Queens
- Work is performed in classrooms, offices, and activity spaces
- Noise level ranges from moderate to high; potential exposure to communicable conditions in youth settings
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with all DYCD and DOE guidelines
- Monitor site programming, attendance, and staff performance through consistent supervision and feedback
- Conduct weekly site visits and daily check-ins with program teams
- Ensure alignment between curriculum activities, student needs, and C4S program goals
- Develop program schedules, activities, and enrichment offerings in collaboration with staff
Staff Supervision and Development
- Recruit, train, and evaluate site staff (Group Leaders, Activity Specialists, Program Assistants, etc.)
- Conduct formal performance evaluations three times per year and ongoing informal feedback sessions
- Facilitate staff meetings, trainings, and debrief sessions to strengthen program delivery and team culture
- Ensure staff adhere to all policies, schedules, and attendance expectations
Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain all required records including attendance, timesheets, and inventory documentation
- Review and approve payroll timesheets and submit to the Director of Program Operations
- Ensure all purchases, disposals, and budget adjustments are properly documented
- Prepare and submit compliance and operational reports on time
- Monitor and update staff clearances and certifications in collaboration with HR
Partnerships and Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison between C4S, DYCD, DOE, and partner schools
- Build and sustain strong relationships with principals, teachers, families, and community organizations
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and address concerns promptly
- Represent the organization at community and city-sponsored events
Fiscal Management
- Develop, monitor, and reconcile program budgets in partnership with the Director of Program Operations
- Manage supply orders, vendor relations, and financial documentation to ensure accountability

At-Will Employment
Employment with Community 4 Success (C4S) is at-will, meaning either the employee or the organization may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause or notice, unless specified in a written agreement signed by authorized C4S leadership.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
