Job Overview
Lamberti is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager whowill be responsible for all environmental reporting, inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements for the 35 employee Lamberti Synthesis facility in Chattanooga, TN and provide support to other Lamberti facilities in the USA as needed. The successful candidate will report to the Plant Manager in Tennessee. They will interpret and provide direction on environment/safety regulations as they pertain to plant activities and work on projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
> B.S. degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
> Minimum three years industrial, consulting or regulatory experience in environmental engineering, environmental compliance, environmental management, or some combination thereof.
> Solid understanding of air pollution control equipment, water & wastewater systems and continuous emission monitoring equipment including their design, operation and maintenance.
> Knowledge of air, water, hazardous waste, solid waste and community right-to-know environmental compliance, permitting, incident investigating and reporting protocols.
> Strong computer skills and the ability to accurately analyze, manage, compile, track, maintain, present and draw valid conclusions from large amounts of complex data.
> Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and leadership skills.
> Effective presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
> Able to make decisions and work effectively with minimal supervision.
> Flexible and able to respond quickly to changing job demands and prioritize multiple responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility in environmental and safety compliance conformance.
- Evaluate and determine appropriate permitting and abatement strategies for projects at the plant that may have an impact on existing air quality permits.
- Ensure the proper onsite management and offsite disposal of solid, universal, and hazardous wastes including disposal/recycling facility audits and lead a plant-wide effort to minimize waste through pollution prevention techniques.
- Perform routine environmental sampling, conduct required inspections, and maintain necessary records.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports.
- Prepare and maintain environmental operating plans (i.e. SPCC)
- Ensure all environmental permits/certificates are renewed in a timely manner and kept up to date with any applicable facility changes.
- Primary contact with regulatory agencies, including accompanying regulatory representatives during site inspections/visits.
- Maintain awareness of environmental regulatory changes with the potential to impact company operation and communicate these changes to company management.
- Provide training for the environmental and safety programs; coordinates with the environmental management team.
- Develops, recommends, supervises and assesses environmental safety, compliance, remediation and reclamation programs.
- Supervises, enhances and monitors air quality environmental practices for the site.
- Reports environmental compliance issues and makes recommendations to appropriate site management for correction.
- Serves as Consultant or Project Manager on environmental projects (e.g., air quality compliance, permitting, remediation, or reclamation).
- Evaluates and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
- Provides guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices, and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations.
- Contributes to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for environmental systems and issues.
- Oversee or investigates and maintains records of environmental incidents and responses as required by law.
- Maintains current working knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental and occupational health regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, TOSCA, SARA, CWA, EPCRA etc).
- Oversee and coordinates all training mandated by EPA, DEQ, OSHA, DOT or other bodies. Serves as primary contact with regulatory bodies in designated areas.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
