Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and beverages promptly, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Process cash and card transactions efficiently while handling cash handling responsibilities with accuracy
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed and support kitchen staff during busy periods
- Use reservation management tools like OpenTable to manage bookings and optimize seating arrangements
- Provide expert knowledge on wine pairings, spirits, and menu ingredients to elevate guest experiences
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring overall satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for sales transaction processing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Ability to multitask effectively while managing time efficiently during busy hours
- Culinary experience or food industry background to understand menu offerings and food safety standards
- Beverage expertise including cocktail mixing, wine knowledge, spirits experience, and beverage service techniques
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing tabs seamlessly
- Experience with reservation systems like OpenTable for efficient table management
- Knowledge of sanitation practices such as proper food handling and cleanliness standards
- Strong communication skills paired with a friendly demeanor to enhance guest interactions
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
