Skills & Experience
- Licensed Veterinary Technician Required
- Five (5) or more years’ experience in Vet Hospital or Shelter in surgery.
- Ability to quickly identify and resolve operational issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and policies.
- Experience in optimizing workflows and improving operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety protocols.
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to veterinary care.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Identify and address operational challenges and opportunities for growth.
- Identify and develop new programs and services that align with the clinic's mission and community needs.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure consistency and high standards across all clinics.
Staff Management:
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations for the recruitment, training, and development of clinic staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations for performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for surgical staff.
- Foster leadership skills within the team, providing mentorship and opportunities for professional growth.
Operational Management:
- Streamline clinic workflows to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee the procurement and management of medical supplies and equipment.
- Ensure adequate inventory levels to support clinic operations.
Feline Care
- Oversee medical management of patients throughout the surgical process, induction through recovery.
- Proficiency in drawing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal), running required in-house tests, administering vaccines or other injections (IV, SQ or IM), implanting microchips, administering IV or SQ fluids, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical post-op care.
- Proficiency with Dental Radiology and prophylaxis.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all surgeries and medical procedures meet or exceed veterinary medical standards.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of care and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the clinic complies with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including veterinary medical standards and safety protocols.
- Maintain a safe working environment for staff and clients, including proper handling of medical waste and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the Shelter Manager to manage the budget for the clinic, ensuring financial sustainability and efficiency.
Environment/Working Conditions
- Schedule Monday-Friday
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, occasionally.
- Regularly utilize stairs to arrive at office and meeting space.
- Position is 40 hours per week.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
