Experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant – KaufCare Advanced Urgent Care
Location: Denver, Colorado
Compensation: $80–$85/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities available
KaufCare Advanced Urgent Care is looking for an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant who is comfortable practicing independently, performing procedures, and managing higher-acuity patients outside of the traditional emergency department.
KaufCare is a physician-founded, independent medical practice built to bridge the gap between conventional urgent care and the emergency room. We provide advanced diagnostic and procedural capabilities in a low-volume, patient-centered environment without the throughput pressures and bureaucracy of a hospital system.
This is not a typical urgent care position.
Our PAs have the time and resources to actually practice medicine while working closely with an experienced, board-certified Emergency Medicine physician.
What you’ll do:
- Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries across the lifespan
- Independently manage appropriate higher-acuity urgent-care presentations
- Perform laceration repairs, incision and drainage, splinting, fracture management, foreign-body removal, and other office-based procedures
- Evaluate chest pain, abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, infections, and other acute presentations
- Interpret X-rays, EKGs, and laboratory testing
- Utilize point-of-care ultrasound when appropriately trained
- Identify patients requiring escalation and coordinate transfer to an emergency department when necessary
- Provide thoughtful, evidence-based care without being pressured to rush patients through the clinic
Who we’re looking for:
- Licensed Physician Assistant in Colorado
- Significant Emergency Medicine experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable making independent clinical decisions
- Strong procedural skills
- Excellent judgment regarding which patients can safely remain in the outpatient setting versus requiring ED evaluation
- Comfortable with a broad scope of acute care medicine
- Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
- Someone who genuinely enjoys practicing medicine and taking care of patients
