EHI specializes in residential treatment, outpatient, prevention services, recovery housing, and recovery services for persons with a substance use disorder including persons with co-occurring disorders. Our primary goal is to assist each person served in achieving and maintaining recovery and improving every aspect of their quality of life.” We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team and lead our HR department in supporting our growing workforce.
Job Overview: The Senior Human Resources Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day execution of all human resource functions. This is a hands-on, working manager role that actively manages HR operations while directly performing key functions, including recruitment and employee support. The position ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting workforce effectiveness, employee engagement, and organizational goals
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Strategic Alignment
- Provide leadership and oversight of all human resource functions to support organizational mission and strategic goals
- Partner with executive leadership to develop workforce strategies that support service delivery and operational needs
- Promote a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement
Workforce Development
- Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure staff are trained in organizational policies, procedures, and job responsibilities
- Identify training needs and coordinate staff development initiatives
- Support ongoing professional development and staff engagement efforts
Human Resources Operations
- Direct all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and employee relations
- Oversee HR systems (e.g., ADP) and assist with data entry, corrections, and system maintenance as needed
- Supervise HR staff and ensure effective execution of HR processes
- Maintain personnel records in accordance with confidentiality and regulatory requirements
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (Hands-On)
- Directly manage and execute full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates
- Review resumes, evaluate qualifications, and make hiring recommendations
- Coordinate and participate in interviews with hiring managers
- Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment sources, including agencies, universities, and community partners
- Monitor and improve time-to-fill and recruitment outcomes.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Provide guidance to leadership on employee relations, performance issues, and disciplinary actions
- Ensure consistent and timely resolution of workplace concerns
- Support performance evaluation processes, coaching, and corrective action plans
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, COBRA, Workers’ Compensation)
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
- Coordinate resolution of policy-related and procedural issues and inquiries
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, LTD/STD, and retirement plans (future)
- Oversee leave of absence programs, including FMLA and other protected leaves
Data & Reporting
- Track and report HR metrics such as turnover, vacancies, and training completion
- Analyze workforce data and recommend improvements to leadership
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR records and reporting systems
- And other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a similar HR leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
