Payroll & Admin Specialist (Paycom Experience Strongly Recommended)

Join Our Team
We’re looking for an experienced Payroll and Admin person to join our People & Culture team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys payroll, loves details, and takes pride in making sure employees are paid accurately and on time.
Payroll is the primary responsibility of this role, but you’ll also support a variety of HR administrative functions that help keep our department organized and running smoothly.
This is not an entry-level payroll position. We’re looking for someone who already has experience processing payroll in Paycom and understands the importance of accuracy, confidentiality, and California payroll compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Payroll (Primary Responsibility) (approx 35 hours on Payroll weeks)
- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 125+ employees using Paycom
- Audit employee timecards for accuracy prior to payroll processing
- Review overtime, meal premium, and timekeeping exceptions
- Process payroll adjustments, reimbursements, and manual earnings
- Enter weekly Revenue Share payments
- Ensure payroll complies with California wage and hour laws
- Complete required local wage and paid leave reporting
- Review payroll reports for accuracy before final submission
- Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and confidentially
- Maintain payroll records and documentation
HR Administrative Support (approx 15 hours on non payroll weeks)
During non-payroll periods you’ll help support our People & Culture team by:
- Auditing sick time, PTO, and employee records
- Scanning and electronically filing HR documentation
- Maintaining personnel files
- Assisting with onboarding paperwork and employee records
- Entering invoices and receipts
- Supporting compliance projects and internal audits
- Assisting with various administrative projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience processing payroll in Paycom (we may conser other platforms, this is the system we use and experience in Paycom is ideal)
- Payroll processing experience
- Knowledge of California payroll laws and wage & hour requirements
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Comfortable working in G-Suite
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Excellent time and attendance history
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-location payroll experience
- Office administrative experience
- Experience supporting hourly workforces
- Experience auditing payroll prior to submission
