CDL A Truck Driver/ Switcher - Local Home Daily
Lawrence Transportation is seeking a dependable and safety-focused
CDL-A Truck Driver / Switcher to join our team in Lynchburg, Virginia. This position is ideal for truck drivers who enjoy staying local, working in a fast-paced environment, and playing a critical role in keeping freight moving efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Perform trailer switching and yard movements safely and efficiently for flatbed loads
- Secure and prepare flatbed loads
- Move equipment between yards, and designated staging areas
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Communicate with dispatch and warehouse personnel to coordinate trailer movements
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards
- Maintain accurate logs and required documentation
- Assist with local driving duties as needed
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least one year of driving experience
- Clean driving record and commitment to safety
- Ability to maneuver trailers in tight spaces and busy yard environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
