Duties
- Engage with clients through inside and outside sales channels to understand their lighting needs and present customized solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and lighting layout designs using SketchUp, CAD, or other design software to visualize concepts effectively.
- Build strong customer relationships by providing expert advice on lighting design, renovation projects, and fixture selections.
- Upsell high-end lighting products and remodeling fixtures to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring client satisfaction.
- Manage client communication throughout the sales process, from initial consultation to deal closing, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Assist with merchandising efforts by organizing stock, setting up displays, and maintaining showroom presentation standards.
- Utilize CRM systems and POS software to track customer interactions, process transactions accurately, and follow up on leads.
- Collaborate with contractors and construction teams during remodeling or renovation projects to ensure proper installation and maintenance of lighting systems.
- Stay informed about the latest lighting trends, technical innovations, and industry best practices to provide knowledgeable guidance.
- Support marketing initiatives by participating in product demos, promotional events, and community outreach efforts.
Qualifications (no experience necessary, qualifications are a plus)
- Proven experience in outside sales within the lighting, construction, or remodeling industries; high-end sales experience is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for layout design and project management.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals effectively while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Knowledge of lighting design principles, interior design concepts, and remodeling processes.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English; multilingual skills are advantageous for diverse client interactions.
- Familiarity with retail sales techniques including upselling, merchandising, and customer relationship building.
- Technical proficiency in POS systems, CRM platforms, and basic math for accurate calculations and transactions.
- Construction experience or background in renovation projects enhances understanding of installation requirements and project timelines.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple client projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills to clearly explain technical details and collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
