Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and dedicated Day Porters and Night Cleaners to join our dynamic team at a charter school. In this vital role, you will ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of the school facilities during designated shifts. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas during assigned shifts
- Handle chemical agents safely for cleaning purposes, following all safety protocols and handling instructions
- Use floor buffers and other equipment to maintain high standards of floor care, including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing surfaces
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to move furniture, supplies, and cleaning equipment efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, glass surfaces, and other fixtures to ensure a bright and inviting environment
- Assist with basic custodial repairs or maintenance tasks as needed to support overall facility upkeep
- Follow all safety procedures related to industrial cleaning and custodial work to prevent accidents or injuries
Requirements
- Prior experience in janitorial services, custodial work, or facilities maintenance is preferred
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and equipment operation such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Ability to handle chemical agents responsibly with proper safety practices in place
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly without strain or injury
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within scheduled shifts
- Flexibility to work during day or night shifts as required by the school’s operational hours
