What to Expect
As a Mechanical Engineer on the Engineering team, you'll help run, maintain, and continuously improve some of the most capable machining equipment and processes on our shop floor. We're looking for someone with a strong appetite to pick up new skills on the job and who enjoys working hands-on alongside engineers, technicians, and production staff. You will likely join with depth in one area — CNC programming, 3D CAD, tooling, and the like — and grow into the others by learning from the people around you. Succeeding here means being able to support every part of the machining process and the equipment that drives it.
What You'll Do
- Own machining process design for both current and new parts
- Scope and deliver cost-down and process-improvement projects (cycle time, downtime, and more)
- Lead or support root-cause investigations into machining defects and downstream scrap
- Manage inventory of cutting tools, consumables, and fixture components used in machining
- Write work instructions and train technicians and production associates on the process and equipment
- Partner with Equipment Engineering and outside vendors on fixture and equipment fixes
- Contribute to feasibility studies for new machining programs
- Support other teams on shared business goals as needed
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering — or equivalent hands-on experience
- At least 1 year working in production machining
- Solid grasp of machining processes and CNC equipment
- Comfortable reading and editing G-code
- Experience with GD&T and reading engineering drawings
- 3D CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA) and CAD/CAM experience a plus
- Willingness to do hands-on work on the floor
