We are an Ophthalmology practice with locations in Springfield and Woodbridge, VA seeking an Ophthalmic Surgical Coordinator for a full time on-site position.
The surgical coordinator works directly with providers, patients and clinical staff to schedule ophthalmic surgeries. Position requires working with outpatient ASC facilities to prepare patients for their surgical experience. The coordinator needs to have good communication skills, be highly organized, and be able to work independently. Position requires travel between our Woodbridge and Springfield office locations.

Responsibilities
- Post surgery, obtain clearances, and educate the patient on surgical process
- Coordinate surgical schedules and patient appointments
- Manage medical records and maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and assisting with pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
- Utilize EHR systems to document patient information accurately and facilitate communication among healthcare providers.
- Support the surgical team by preparing necessary documentation
Qualifications
- Medical administrative support experience
- Proficiency in EHR systems: Modernizing Medicine, Epic, SIS systems
- Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction
- Knowledge of medical/ophthalmic terminology and CPT coding
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
- Competence in Google/Microsoft Office
