Little Sprouts Learning Center is a local, award-winning childcare located in Colorado Springs. We offer year-round care for children 6 weeks to 6 years old and have 9 classrooms. We serve 100% organic food and are passionate about Creative Curriculum. We have nature-focused playgrounds with gardens, we use Eco-friendly supplies and materials, and enjoy our classroom animals. Applicants must be comfortable with our niche.
We are seeking two passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The hours are full time, Monday through Friday, dayshifts. Lead qualifications would require a level 2 or higher in PDIS depending on the position. Other alternative paths for lead qualifications will be considered.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development and experience working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters learning and growth for young children under 5 yrs. old. The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for providing direct supervision and safety of the children, daily parent communication, implementing educational activities, and assessing student progress to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and exploration.
- Assess children's developmental progress through assessments and observations.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a cohesive educational experience for students.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with young children in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices.
- Ability to create effective lesson plans tailored to the needs of diverse learners.
- Familiarity with assessments and observations and early intervention strategies is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in behavior management techniques to support positive classroom dynamics.
- A commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Teacher pay is based on experience, education, and credentials.
