Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Paraoptometric Assistant to join our dynamic optometric practice. In this vital role, you will support optometrists by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Duties
- Perform patient prescreenings.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR), ensuring accurate documentation of patient information while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, billing insurance, and managing patient records with precision.
- Provide direct patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring a comfortable experience during ophthalmic examinations.
- Assist in retail sales of contact lens. Perform insertion and removal classes for new contact wearers.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or optometry clinic is highly preferred.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care and confidentiality compliance.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining clinical confidentiality policies is essential.
- Retail sales experience combined with strong organizational skills for front desk responsibilities is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
