Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate financial records.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheets regularly to maintain precise financial data.
- Process accounts payable and receivable efficiently using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including bank reconciliations, cash flow statements, and expense reports using Excel data analysis techniques.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards; assist with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance procedures.
- Handle payroll management tasks utilizing ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian or comparable payroll software while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes; assist with audit preparations and internal controls implementation.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable/receivable transactions; manage vendor relationships and customer inquiries professionally.
- Utilize various accounting systems such as Workday, Paychex, PeopleSoft, or others to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with a solid understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos or similar platforms; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel is essential.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), governmental accounting standards is preferred.
- Experience with technical accounting tasks such as account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong numeracy skills combined with excellent attention to detail; ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately at high speed (10 key typing skills) and interpret complex financial data effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment; strong customer service orientation when interacting with vendors or clients.

Pay: $62,294.95 - $75,021.88 per year
