Job Summary
The Campus Safety Compliance Manager is responsible for the coordination and administration of the university’s public safety and security related compliance requirements, including the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and the Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and associated regulations. This position will identify and acquire necessary resources and coordinate the efforts of the department to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes, which include liaising with university partners, external agencies, media outlets and production partners. Position may be required to work or attend events, meetings, and conferences after hours and on weekends. This position also manages the accreditation and recognition processes for the agency.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate, develop and implement the University's Clery Act compliance policies and activities in collaboration with applicable offices and satellite campuses.

Identify and maintain a list of all institutional Campus Security Authorities (CSA).

Develop and provide training for CSAs and key stakeholders.

Create outreach programs that focus on campus-wide compliance with the Clery Act.

Work collaboratively with various campus partners, law enforcement agencies, and state and federal regulatory bodies to ensure the university's public safety and security related compliance.

Gather crime and disciplinary referral data from internal and external sources, such as the Dean of Students, University Police, Campus Safety, and local law enforcement agencies.

Prepare, publish, and distribute the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.

Ensure notices announcing the availability of the report are properly developed and available to prospective students and employees as required.

Manage the accreditation and recognition processes for the Police Department, along with ongoing improvement initiatives, departmental inspections, and the review, revision, and implementation of policies.

Perform compliance inspections based on established guidelines for accreditation and recognition.

Serve as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and the institution's designated Campus Safety Survey Administrator as defined by the Department of Education.

Required Education/Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.

Four (4) years of experience in higher education administration.

May accept a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
-
Master’s Degree in related field.

One (1) or two (2) years’ experience in administering compliance activities in relation to the Clery Act.

Completion of NACCOP Clery Compliance Officer Certification Program.
Required Certifications / Licenses
-
Within one year of employment, successful completion of the advanced Clery Act training program provided by Delores Stafford and Associates or The Clery Center.

Within three years of employment, obtain NACCOP Clery Compliance Officer Certification or equivalent.

Valid Texas driver’s license (Not subject to suspension and eligible to drive a motor vehicle owned or leased by the University of Texas System.)

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
