Join our Supply Chain team as a Logistics Coordinator, where your expertise will drive the seamless movement of goods across diverse transportation modes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate complex logistics operations, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, and optimize delivery routes. As a key player in our organization, you will coordinate shipments across a variety of transportation assets—including delivery vans, straight trucks, tractor-trailers, rail and vessels—while maintaining high standards of efficiency, and communication. Your proactive approach will help us deliver exceptional service and uphold our reputation for operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the scheduling and routing of freight deliveries using route optimization strategies to meet deadlines while minimizing costs.
- Manage rail communication and schedules.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers and vendors to secure optimal pricing while maintaining quality service levels.
- Monitor traffic conditions in logistics routes and adapt plans accordingly to avoid delays or disruptions.
- Maintain compliance records for DOT and international shipping standards.
- Facilitate plant logistics management by coordinating schedules with plant operations, customers service and carriers: inbound/outbound shipments, inventory control, etc.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics coordination or supply chain within a manufacturing operation.
- Strong knowledge of route optimization, traffic conditions in logistics, and freight rate negotiation techniques.
- Familiarity with vehicle types such as delivery vans, straight trucks, tractor-trailers, railcars, and vessels.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Understanding of DOT and rail regulations.
- Ability to handle stressful situations related to driver shortages or traffic disruptions efficiently.
