Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to individuals in need, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including lifting and positioning individuals as necessary.
- Support individuals with daily activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and errands.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, engaging in conversation and activities.
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals or family members.
- Monitor and report any changes in the individual's condition or behavior to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for the individual, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in personal care assistance or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of hospice care, dementia care, autism support, or childcare is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects or individuals (up to a specified weight limit) with proper lifting techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds and abilities.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who may have physical or cognitive limitations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for transportation needs (if applicable).
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and procedures is beneficial.
