About the Role
An established sign manufacturing company is seeking a Powder Coating Technician to support finishing operations within our production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the surface preparation and electrostatic application of powder coatings to aluminum signage, and related decorative architectural components, ensuring finish quality, film thickness, and cure integrity meet production specifications. Compensation begins at $24.00 per hour, increases with experience and demonstrated proficiency.
What You'll Do
- Prep parts for coating: cleaning, sanding, masking, and hanging
- Operate powder coating equipment and spray guns to apply consistent, high-quality finishes
- Run and monitor curing ovens, following correct times and temperatures
- Inspect finished parts for coverage, texture, and color consistency
- Handle color changeovers and keep the booth and equipment clean
- Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow all safety procedures
- Help with racking, unracking, and moving parts through production
What We're Looking For
- Powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred
- Person with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working around ovens and in a production shop environment
- Reliable attendance and a team-first attitude
- Eye for quality
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift, move, and maneuver heavy metal materials and components.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical labor in a shop environment
