Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision
- Operate POS systems such as square to process transactions efficiently and accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food handling and preparation areas
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders, and addressing inquiries promptly
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy using POS systems and basic math skills
- Assist in food preparation tasks, including serving baked goods or light snacks as needed
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality
Experience
- Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for coffee and customer service is essential
- Familiarity with POS systems enhances efficiency in transaction processing
- Strong skills in sales, serving, and cash handling contribute to positive guest interactions
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, food handling practices, and café operations ensures compliance and safety standards are met
- Excellent time management skills enable smooth workflow during peak hours
- Basic math proficiency is necessary for accurate cash register operation and retail math calculations
