Sales Manager - ProSource of Springfield
ProSource helps trade pros, contractors, designers, and builders get their projects done right. We're a small showroom team, which means our Sales Manager isn't sitting behind a desk running reports all day. You'll be out there building relationships and closing business right alongside everyone else, while also making sure the showroom runs the way it should.
This is not retail. No retail hours, no one time transactions. We create relationships so the same trade pros come back to us project after project, year after year. If you're good at that, and good at helping the people around you get better at it too, this is your kind of job.
We take the business seriously. We also like each other and have a good time doing this. Because the team is small, everyone's work matters and everyone notices when someone's pulling their weight, including you.
The job, in plain terms:
You're carrying your own book of business. Building relationships with trade pros, working leads, quoting jobs, closing sales. This is hands-on, every day, not delegated.
You're also responsible for the showroom's results. P&L, profitability, the whole picture. You should know why a number looks the way it does and what to do about it.
You're hiring and developing the rest of the team. We have an onboarding process that works, but it's on you to bring in good people and help them grow.
You're coaching while you're selling. You'll be in the field or on the floor doing the same work as your team, which means you're in a good position to show them how it's done, not just tell them.
You know your market. What sells in Springfield, what trends are coming, what your customers actually need. You stay ahead of that because you're talking to them yourself.
You run the showroom, making sure it looks and runs the way it should.
What we need from you:
- Real sales experience. You've carried a number before and hit it.
- Comfort with P&L statements. You don't need to be an accountant, but numbers shouldn't scare you.
- Strong negotiation skills and the instincts to go develop new business, not just wait for it to walk in.
- Some leadership experience or at least the natural ability to bring people along with you.
- Strong writing and communication. Reports, correspondence, customer facing stuff.
- Basic comfort with Microsoft Office and everyday tech. Nothing exotic.
- A genuine customer service mindset. You know how to make people feel taken care of.
