Position Summary:
The Reconditioning Automotive Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning used vehicles to meet high-quality standards. This role requires a strong knowledge of vehicle systems, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive inspections of used vehicles to assess mechanical and cosmetic condition.
- Conduct repairs and reconditioning services, including but not limited to diagnostics, electrical system repairs, brake services, and suspension work.
- Replace or repair defective parts
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed on vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles meet company quality standards
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and management about vehicle issues and recommended repairs.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry techniques, tools, and technology.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in automotive repair (ASE certification preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in automotive repair, with a focus on vehicle reconditioning.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing all major vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE certification(s) in relevant areas (Automobile Service Excellence).
- Ability to work with most vehicle makes and models
