A home infusion pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for a 12-week full-time contract in Wayne, NJ. This role requires an active and unrestricted pharmacist license in both New Jersey and California. The position offers a standard Monday through Friday schedule, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee compliance with sterile and hazardous drug compounding standards.
- Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, and DEA requirements.
- Manage and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians.
- Maintain overall responsibility for pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
- Review and approve patient care plans, verifying therapy appropriateness, dosing, and medication compatibility.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted New Jersey and California pharmacist licenses.
- Previous experience in a Pharmacist in Charge or managerial role.
- Familiarity with verification of sterile medications.
- IV compounding experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Local candidates only.
Team Environment: The pharmacy team includes 7 technicians, 4 pharmacists, a Director of Pharmacy, and a Pharmacy Coordinator. Sterile compounding experience is highly valued but not required.
