The East Rochester School District is recruiting two full-time tenure-track educators who are lifelong learners and demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive, student-centered approach to learning.
Secondary Special Education Teacher
- Plan and provide instruction for students with learning, behavioral, emotional, and/or developmental disabilities in accordance with NYS mandates and standards.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with NYS Learning Standards and implement and evaluate those plans using best instructional and assessment practices.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate alternative behavior management plans.
- Work in a multidisciplinary team to foster collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.
- Effectively communicate with school staff, families, districts, and community agencies.
- Manage and support classroom teams.
- Participate in ongoing training and learning opportunities.

Job Qualifications
Must possess NYS Students with Disabilities Certification (K-12, 1-6, 7-12 generalist);
- Prefer to have content certification or more than two years of experience in one or more of the following content areas: 7-12 English, 7-12 Math, 7-12 Social Studies.
