We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our team.
Position Summary
McLearen Law Firm is looking for an Associate Attorney to manage a caseload of personal injury and civil litigation matters from intake through resolution. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a strong writer and communicator, comfortable in both negotiation and courtroom settings, and passionate about client advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of personal injury and civil litigation files from initial client intake through settlement, trial, or appeal
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other litigation documents
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel
- Represent clients at depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and manage expectations
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure timely case progression
- Evaluate new case intakes for merit and case value
- Maintain compliance with all applicable court deadlines, rules of procedure, and ethical obligations
- Stay current on relevant case law and statutory changes affecting personal injury and civil litigation practice
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in [State], in good standing
- 1–5+ years of experience in personal injury and/or civil litigation (new admittees with relevant clerkship or internship experience may be considered)
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Trial experience or willingness to develop trial skills preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Strong interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset
- Proficiency with case management software and standard legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis)

This position does not include a base salary or traditional employee benefits (health insurance, PTO, retirement plan). Compensation is earned through case commissions.
