BANANAS is a creative art studio where kids explore, create, and build confidence through hands-on art experiences. We offer after-school classes, camps, birthday parties, toddler programs, and open studio, all centered around open-ended art, collaboration, and creativity.

About the Role
We're looking for a Lead Art Teacher / Studio Manager to lead our creative team and oversee the day-to-day operation of the studio.
This is a working leadership position. You'll spend part of your day teaching, part mentoring staff, and part helping with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the studio running smoothly. You'll set the creative standard for the studio while ensuring every child has a fun, safe, and memorable experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of art teachers and studio assistants.
- Teach art classes, camps, workshops, and birthday parties.
- Develop engaging art projects and seasonal programming.
- Plan curriculum across classes, camps, and special events.
- Prepare materials and ensure projects are organized before each class.
- Help hire, train, and onboard new teachers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and inspiring studio environment.
- Manage inventory and help order art supplies and materials.
- Ensure classes, camps, and parties run smoothly each day.
- Model excellent classroom management and positive interactions with children.
- Build relationships with families and provide outstanding customer service.
- Work closely with the owners to continually improve programming and studio operations.
- Jump in wherever needed—from teaching and prepping materials to setting up and cleaning up.
Schedule
This position averages 3–4 days per week during the school year, with additional weekend birthday parties and school holiday camps.
During Summer Camp, Winter Camp, and Spring Break Camp, the position becomes full-time.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience teaching visual art to children across preschool to early childhood education levels.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Degree or professional background in Fine Arts, Art Education, Design, Illustration, or a related creative field preferred.
- Expertise in curriculum development tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate students and maintain discipline constructively.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Experience leading youth programs or educational initiatives focused on creative arts instruction.
- Strong communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues in a collaborative environment.
