Maintenance Assistant
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Maintenance Assistant to support general maintenance and facility improvement projects during the summer months. This position assists with a variety of repair, cleaning, painting, organizing, and facility upkeep tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, comfortable using basic hand tools, willing to perform physical work, and capable of working independently after receiving direction.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties
- Complete interior and exterior painting and touch-up projects.
- Assist with cleaning and organization of production, storage, warehouse, and work areas.
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials as needed.
- Perform minor repairs and basic handyman projects.
- Assemble and install shelving, furniture, signs, and related items.
- Assist with landscaping and exterior grounds maintenance as needed.
- Organize maintenance supplies, tools, and storage areas.
- Remove unwanted materials and prepare items for disposal or recycling.
- Support maintenance staff with special projects and routine facility upkeep.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Maintain clean and organized warehouse and production storage areas.
General Responsibilities

- Comply with all applicable OSHA safety and health standards.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as requested by management.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Previous experience in maintenance, construction, painting, landscaping, or general handyman work preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and small power tools preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to complete assignments with limited supervision.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks based on facility needs.
- Ability to work safely and respectfully in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and flexibility to assist in different areas as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in various facility locations.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40–50 pounds; assistance provided for heavier items.
- Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, and basic power tools.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including in warm summer conditions.
