Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Chaplain to provide spiritual care, emotional support, and pastoral presence to our residents, families, and staff. This role promotes the holistic well-being of residents through individual visits, worship services, educational programs, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team while honoring the diverse faith traditions and beliefs within our community.
Schedule:
Approximately 24 hours per week, primarily during daytime hours. The preferred schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with flexibility in days and hours based on the needs of the community and the successful candidate's availability.
What You'll Do
- Provide compassionate spiritual care, pastoral support, and a caring presence to residents, families, and staff.

Conduct regular resident visits throughout the community and at local healthcare facilities, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and hospice locations, as appropriate to provide spiritual support, encouragement, and continuity of care.

Plan, coordinate, and lead worship services, devotional programs, prayer groups, memorial services, and other spiritual enrichment opportunities.

Develop and facilitate educational programs, discussion groups, and activities that encourage spiritual growth, personal reflection, and overall well-being.

Support residents and families during times of illness, life transitions, grief, loss, and end-of-life care.

Foster an inclusive environment that respects and honors diverse faith traditions, beliefs, and spiritual practices.

Build relationships with local clergy, faith communities, hospice providers, and other community resources to support residents’ spiritual needs.

Collaborate with the Executive Director, Program Services Director, Resident Services team, and other departments to ensure residents’ emotional and spiritual needs are addressed.

Participate in resident events, interdisciplinary meetings, and community activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Divinity (B.Div.), Biblical Studies, Religious Studies, or an equivalent undergraduate degree in biblical or ministerial studies.

Ordination, ecclesiastical endorsement, or equivalent recognition by a recognized faith tradition preferred.

Previous experience providing chaplaincy, pastoral care, or spiritual care in senior living, healthcare, hospice, or a related setting preferred.

Knowledge of aging, dementia, grief support, and end-of-life care is preferred.

Ability to provide compassionate spiritual care to individuals of diverse faiths, cultures, and backgrounds.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional ethical standards.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required to visit residents who are hospitalized, in rehabilitation, or receiving care at other healthcare facilities.

Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, is preferred.
