Job Overview
The School Social Worker provides social-emotional support and intervention services to students and families to improve academic performance and student well-being. This role collaborates with educators, parents, and community agencies to address barriers to learning and foster a safe, supportive school environment.
- Provide crisis intervention and management for children and families facing urgent challenges or emergencies
- Assess the needs of children in protective services and develop tailored support plans
- Collaborate with family law professionals, school personnel, and community agencies to ensure child welfare and safety
- Offer counseling, behavioral health support, and conflict management strategies to children and their families
- Maintain detailed case records, documentation, and reports in compliance with agency standards
- Advocate for children’s rights and well-being during legal proceedings or child protective services investigations
- Facilitate communication between children, families, and service providers to promote positive outcomes
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in social work, childcare, or related fields
- Knowledge of child protective services procedures, child welfare policies, and family law practices
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, conflict management, and behavioral health support
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and clear communication
- Experience engaging with diverse populations in high-pressure environments is preferred
