Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments utilizing advanced clinical skills and knowledge of physiology and mental health diagnosis criteria such as ICD-10 coding.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications in accordance with DEA regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate psychopharmacology, therapy, and other modalities.
- Manage patient care through telehealth platforms and in-person visits, ensuring seamless integration within our electronic health record (EHR) system of eClinicalWorks.
- Provide education on mental health conditions, medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies to patients and their families.
- Document all clinical encounters accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality and data security.
- Participate in case management activities including discharge planning, utilization review, and follow-up care coordination to optimize patient outcomes.
Experience
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with current state licensure.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient data management.
- Familiarity with clinical research methodologies and experience working within hospital environments or teaching hospitals is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Experience working in telehealth settings or providing outpatient psychiatric services enhances your candidacy.
