Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care within our ophthalmology practice. You will assist ophthalmologists in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while maintaining a high standard of patient interaction and care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history and current medications.
- Assist with ophthalmic examinations by preparing patients and equipment.
- Maintain aseptic technique during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Manage medical records, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Travel to various clinic locations.
Skills
- Strong background in patient care in ophthalmology.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical office protocols.
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology is essential.
