JOB TITLE: Contract Floor Tech

The Contract Floor Tech for Frost Industries is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all floors within each area of responsibility, performing custodial tasks as needed, and providing supervision for those with disabilities. This position involves operating floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, carpet cleaners, vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums, while adhering to safety protocols and proper chemical handling procedures. Work hours range from 5 to 8 hours per day, with variable scheduling based on contract needs.
- Directly responsible for supervision of assigned crew
- Must inspect all completed work prior to departing building/job site
- Provide training to all assigned crew members

Floor Care and Custodial Duties
- Sweep, mop, wax, buff, strip, seal, and restore floors to proper standards
- Remove stains and spots from carpet and upholstered chairs
- Operate floor sweepers, buffers, high-speed burnishers, carpet equipment, and extractors safely and effectively
- Perform general custodial tasks including dusting (low and high dusting), mopping floors, sweeping, and vacuuming
- Clean glass, remove trash, and clean tables, walls, partitions, and stairways
- Clean entrances, diaper pails, drinking fountains, and playground equipment
- Clean light fixtures, walk-off mats, and sauna/steam rooms
- Clean and disinfect showers and restroom fixtures thoroughly
- Maintain cleanliness standards that meet or exceed contract requirements
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Operate all assigned floor care and custodial equipment safely
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
- Report equipment malfunctions or needs to supervisor
- Ensure proper storage and security of equipment
- Transport equipment between job sites as needed
Supervision and Training
- Assign crew members to appropriate tasks based on skills and contract needs
- Oversee duties performed by assigned crew members
- Provide on-the-job training to crew members on proper techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor crew performance and provide feedback
- Ensure all crew members follow safety protocols and quality standards
- Inspect all completed work prior to departing building/job site
- Address performance issues and report to supervisor as needed
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols at all times
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely according to manufacturer instructions
- Ensure crew members follow safety guidelines
- Report safety hazards or concerns to supervisor immediately
- Maintain clean and organized work areas to prevent accidents
Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets contract specifications and quality standards
- Inspect completed work before leaving job sites
- Address deficiencies or quality issues promptly
- Maintain consistent high-quality standards across all assigned sites
- Follow supervisor's instructions regarding work methods and quality expectations
Transportation and Logistics
- Drive to various job sites as assigned
- Transport floor care and custodial equipment safely
- Carry custodial equipment up and down stairs as needed
- Move furniture before and after cleaning as required
- Load and unload equipment to fulfill contract requirements
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs
Communication and Reporting
- Report work progress and any issues to assigned supervisor
- Communicate scheduling needs and equipment requirements
- Document work completed at each site
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and site contacts
- Perform any other work-related duties assigned by immediate supervisor
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. regularly
- Ability to carry custodial equipment up and down stairs
- Ability to move furniture before and after cleaning
- Ability to load and unload equipment
- Ability to work 5 to 8 hours per day with variable scheduling
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and stretching
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to operate several types of equipment including floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, carpet cleaners, vacuum cleaners, high-speed burnishers, and extractors
- Ability to work indoors in various environments including areas with cleaning chemicals and dust
- Ability to climb ladders and perform high dusting tasks safely
- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with floor care and custodial tasks
- Ability to see well enough to inspect work quality and identify cleaning needs
- Ability to hear and communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors
- Physical stamina to maintain productivity throughout the workday
WORK HOURS: 5 to 8 hours per day (variable based on contract needs; hours not guaranteed)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Solely responsible for supervision of assigned crew; must inspect all completed work prior to departing building/job site; provide training to all assigned crew members.
Pay: $15.00 - $15.75 per hour
