We are on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Deli Department Manager to join our vibrant food retail team. Duties
- Oversee daily deli operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and coordinating with suppliers for timely replenishments.
- Supervise staff training and development to ensure team members are knowledgeable about food safety, handling procedures, and POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Assist in shift management by coordinating schedules, delegating tasks, and maintaining high service standards during busy hours.
- Enforce food safety regulations and sanitation practices to uphold health standards across the department.
- Support culinary initiatives such as catering or special events to expand deli offerings and enhance customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Prior experience in food service management or hospitality management is essential; experience in quick service or fast food restaurants is highly valued.
- Demonstrated supervising experience with teams in a restaurant or retail setting.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety protocols.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for transaction processing and inventory tracking.
- Strong skills in managing budgets, profit & loss analysis, and operational planning.
- Proven ability to train staff effectively and lead teams with managerial communication skills.
- Background in casual dining, fine dining, catering, or banquet environments is a plus.
