Responsibilities
- Safely operate a truck, 120 cubic feet or similar vehicle, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols.
- Load, unload, and organize parcels using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices.
- Drive predetermined routes efficiently, navigating through urban or rural areas to deliver mail and packages promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting courteously with recipients, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Use manual transmission vehicles when required, demonstrating skill in route driving and vehicle control.
- Maintain accurate delivery scanning routes documentation of all deliveries made during each shift.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as moving parcels when necessary to support loading operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is highly preferred, especially with route driving responsibilities.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for handling heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating large vans or similar SUV vehicle is essential With 120 sq feet required.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and weight handling in the workplace.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting techniques; physically capable of moving packages of varying weights.
- Attention to detail mandatory.
