Camp Daggett is seeking an energetic, organized, and mission-driven Adventure Education Director to lead our year-round adventure education programs. This is an exciting opportunity to shape meaningful experiences for thousands of youth, schools, corporate groups, families, and campers while overseeing one of Northern Michigan's premier challenge course programs.

About the Position
The Adventure Education Director provides leadership for Camp Daggett's Adventure Education programs, including our outdoor low and high ropes courses, indoor high ropes course, team-building initiatives, and experiential learning programs.
Working collaboratively with the Program Team, this position develops and delivers engaging experiences for school groups, corporate retreats, summer camps, wilderness trips, and special events while ensuring the highest standards of safety, staff development, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Lead and grow Camp Daggett's year-round Adventure Education programming.
- Manage and oversee the operation of indoor and outdoor challenge courses.
- Design and facilitate engaging team-building experiences for schools, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations.
- Integrate adventure education into Camp Daggett's summer camp programming.
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor adventure education staff, facilitators, and belay personnel.
- Ensure all challenge course equipment, inspections, documentation, and operating procedures meet current ANSI/ACCT standards.
- Schedule and coordinate annual technical inspections.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing clients while cultivating new partnerships and business opportunities.
- Develop innovative outdoor education experiences that advance Camp Daggett's mission.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional/life experience.
- Experience leading outdoor education, adventure education, or experiential learning programs.
- Experience facilitating team-building and leadership development.
- Experience supervising and developing staff.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of youth and adults.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- Challenge Course Level I Certification (or similar) or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Experience
- Corporate team-building facilitation.
- Summer camp leadership.
- Outdoor recreation, hiking, paddling, camping, or wilderness education.
- Client relationship management and program development.
Physical Requirements
This position is active and hands-on. The Adventure Education Director should be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain, climbing challenge course elements, lifting up to 25 pounds, and participating in physically active programming.
