The Yard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the yard, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient receipt, storage, organization, and movement of materials and equipment. This role coordinates work priorities, assigns tasks, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures established processes and procedures are consistently followed. The Yard Supervisor provides direction and support to the yard team while promoting a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, inventory and supply chain knowledge, communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

Direct and coordinate the receipt, storage, organization, and movement of materials, supplies, and equipment; verify deliveries against purchase orders and supporting documentation.

Oversee routine cycle counts and bi-annual physical inventory counts to maintain accurate inventory records.

Safely load and unload trucks using RF scanners and computer systems to accurately track, locate, and fulfill customer orders of varying sizes.

Maintain accurate tracking of shipments, inventory movements, and related information using spreadsheets and other systems.

Prepare and maintain required documentation and paperwork for customer and internal orders.

Participate in RF inventory scanning and ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely.

Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient yard and storage areas.

Conduct visual quality checks of equipment and units stored in the yard and communicate any concerns or discrepancies.

Establish and promote best practices to improve efficiency, organization, inventory accuracy, and overall yard operations.

Provide training and cross-training to employees to support team development, operational coverage, and consistency.

Ensure safety remains a top priority in all yard activities and that employees follow established safety procedures.

Ensure all employees consistently follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational processes.

Assign work and establish priorities based on operational needs, customer requirements, and available resources.

High School or GED required.

3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

Forklift experience preferred

Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.

WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.

OSHA10 certified preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- A proven track record in safety excellence is required.

Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notifies management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
- Ability to interpret work orders and ensure the team has what they need to be set up for success to execute.

Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
- Standing and walking for long durations
- Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
- The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
- Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods
