Job Overview
This position is for a Lead Teacher at Crossroads Baptist Church's Homeschool Program. Working hours are 8:15 am to 2:30 pm on Tuesday's and Thursday's from Labor Day to Memorial Day.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students in their academic and social skills.
- Collaborate with other teachers in the program to develop engaging opportunities for students.
- Maintain open and honest communication with parents about students strengths and challenges. Work together towards helping students improve throughout the year by setting goals and creating clear objectives for the class.
- Prepare age-appropriate lessons and activities for students that align with the themes and core values of the program. These include themed lesson plans for special events, fine arts, etc. (Curriculum is provided for core subjects of Math & Language Arts)
- To use appropriate , consistent and positive discipline.
Requirements
- Must have experience with school age children.
- A consistent faith and understanding of the Center's Christian doctrine and mission statement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to create innovative and engaging lesson plans
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 per hour
