Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Survey Party Chief to lead our land surveying teams in executing precise and efficient survey operations. Duties
- Lead survey crews in field data collection, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Operate and calibrate advanced survey equipment including GPS units, total stations, and robotic instruments to gather precise geospatial data
- Prepare detailed survey reports, sketches, and maps using AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and other drafting software tools
- Manage survey databases, organize field notes, and ensure accurate documentation of all survey activities
- Coordinate with project managers, civil engineers, and clients to plan survey routes and establish benchmarks for construction or land development projects
- Oversee the setup of control points and perform land boundary surveys to establish legal property lines
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety procedures during all field operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Land Surveyor or Survey Party Chief with a strong background in land surveying techniques and practices
- Proficiency in GIS applications such as ArcGIS and knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD and MicroStation for drafting and mapping purposes
- Skilled in operating GPS equipment, total stations, robotic survey instruments, and related technology
- Familiarity with civil engineering principles, construction processes, and database management for survey data storage
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and topographical maps accurately
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise field crews effectively while maintaining high safety standards
- Certification as a Licensed Land Surveyor or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory
- FAA drone license is preferred
