Duties
- Prepare treatment areas and assist patients with exercises and modalities under the supervision of licensed physical therapists
- Support patient intake processes by collecting relevant medical history and explaining procedures clearly
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and session details in compliance with medical terminology standards
- Assist with equipment setup, cleaning, and inventory management to ensure smooth therapy operations
- Facilitate communication between patients and therapists to enhance understanding of treatment goals
- Support clinic staff by coordinating patient schedules and ensuring timely therapy sessions
Experience
- Prior hospital or outpatient clinic experience working with diverse patient populations in acute care, geriatrics, orthopedics, or post-acute settings
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices
- Hands-on experience assisting with patient care activities such as mobility support, transfers, or exercise supervision
- Familiarity with inpatient, outpatient, and sub-acute care environments within hospital medicine or rehabilitation facilities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings like hospitals or clinics specializing in orthopedics or geriatrics
- Experience supporting patients during recovery from injury or surgery in an outpatient setting
