A wonderful Brooklyn Heights family is seeking an experienced, engaging nanny to become an integral part of their busy household. Caring for three delightful school-age children, you'll enjoy active afternoons filled with city adventures, extracurricular activities, and meaningful connections while working alongside kind, organized parents who truly value their nanny.
Position Number: 2057KS
Start Date:
End of August 2026. Interviews and trials are being held in July!
Schedule:
Option 1: Monday–Friday, 12:30 PM–8:30 PM (40 hrs./wk.)
Option 2: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–8:30 PM (30 hrs./wk.)
Afternoons and evenings center around chaperoning school pickups, extracurricular activities, and dinner through bedtime routines, with additional hours optional prior to school pickup for light family assisting tasks.
The Family:
A vibrant, upbeat family of five in Brooklyn Heights who thrive on collaboration, humor, and keeping things moving. This is a warm, "all hands-on deck" household where everyone pitches in. Parents are organized, communicative, and appreciate a proactive, team-oriented nanny who can jump in, anticipate needs, and keep the energy flowing smoothly through busy days.
The Children:
Three outgoing, active children: a boy, age 5, and two girls, ages 9 and 11.
The girls are quite independent and self-directed. They are social, on task, and involved in a variety of after-school activities across the city, from water polo and swimming to art and crochet!
The little guy is an active, high-energy kiddo who loves riding his bike and being on the move. He's headed to kindergarten this fall and will enjoy a fun and active playmate who can also hold a boundary when needed. He's a delightfully delicious & rambunctious kid, all boy and very typically...5 .
They would love a nanny who connects easily across age groups, brings a fun and relatable vibe, and builds strong, individual relationships with each of the children.
The Role:
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in motion. Expect lots of city navigation—subways, stairs, and coordinating multiple schedules at once. Please also like cats—two feline friends live here too!
School pickups and transporting the children to activities across NYC
Tag-teaming logistics with a hands-on mom
Occasional light meal and snack prep
Children's lite laundry and a simple errand—it all depends on the needs of the day and the desired schedule for 30 or 40 hours.
Maintaining common areas (tidying, dishwasher, trash as needed)
Cleaning up after meals or activities you manage
Cat friendly! We have 2 shy kitties who spend most of their time hiding from their humans.
Downtime often occurs while the children are at activities—ideal for resetting and prepping for the next part of the day.
Travel:
No regular travel required at this time.
You:
You are D-E-P-E-N-D-A-B-L-E, punctual, and bring great energy into a room. You love being part of a busy household and take pride in helping things run seamlessly. You're personable, professional, and adaptable—with a "Let's go!" attitude. You're confident navigating NYC transit, comfortable with an active routine, and genuinely enjoy connecting with children across different ages.
A college degree is hoped for and ability to swim, a great plus!
