The Technology group leverages state of the art information technology and risk management systems. We are developing new applications to implement truly cutting-edge standards and always staying at the forefront of technology and its applications for clients, partners, regulators and suppliers.
About Our Summer Analyst Program:
The Summer Analyst Program runs for 10 weeks, during which Analysts will enjoy extensive contact with Nomura professionals at all levels through discussion groups, seminars and informal social functions. This program is an integral component of our full time recruiting.
We aim to provide Summer Analysts with the same level of exposure as a first-year Analyst, with a hands-on opportunity to participate as full members of the team. They are expected to form effective working relationships and to demonstrate a commitment to the firm’s goals and values. During the course of the internship, Summer Analysts benefit from working closely with a buddy and interacting regularly with a senior mentor.
Global Execution Services Technology (GES) develops and maintains the high-performance trading platforms that power Nomura's electronic execution capabilities across the regions. Our team works directly with the front office to deliver ultra-low latency systems and sophisticated order management/execution platforms that handle millions of daily transactions. This fast-paced environment offers an exceptional opportunity to understand financial markets while building cutting-edge technology solutions that directly impact trading performance. The role provides unparalleled exposure to both the technical challenges of electronic trading systems and the business knowledge needed to deliver revenue-driving technology solutions that meet evolving market demands.
Responsibilities
Develop and integrate applications for direct use by business stakeholders
Own critical components of applications and participate in hands-on development
Collaborate with QA for unit and integration testing of deliverables, as well as BA colleagues to understand project scope and requirements
Desired Skillset
Outstanding academic qualifications
Familiarity with programming (Java, Python) and Web technology (HTML/JavaScript/JSP/ASP, Unix Shell/Perl scripting)
Solid fundamental base in logical, analytical data structures; hands on programming, and problem solving
Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to understand financial products
Candidates must be meticulous & ready to take on challenges, as the team deals with mission critical applications

Requirements
Outstanding academic qualifications; strong GPA
Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields within the United States
Graduating between December 2027 and June 2028
Applicants for this position in the Information Technology Division of NHA must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States. The Information Technology Division is not currently sponsoring or taking over sponsorship of employment visas for this position now or in the future, including for Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), etc.
Salary
The intern position has a set base salary at an annualized rate of $95,000 to $105,000 per year, based on the candidate’s enrollment in a degree program. This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
