Duties
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through sanding, scraping, caulking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply primers, paints, stains, coatings, and sealers using various techniques including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (airless and conventional), and construction spray painting methods
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for surface preparation, fixture installation, and minor repairs
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute projects according to specifications
- Perform structural painting tasks on walls, ceilings, stucco exteriors, masonry surfaces, and other building components with attention to detail
- Maintain safety protocols by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to all safety regulations on-site during all phases of work
- Assist with renovation projects by performing plastering, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, caulking, masonry work, and drywall finishing as needed
- Conduct quality inspections using visual color comparison techniques to ensure consistent color matching and finish standards
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction estimating related to painting projects is a plus
- Strong knowledge of color theory for accurate color matching and aesthetic consistency
- Proficiency in residential painting including interior and exterior surfaces
- Skilled in ladder use for reaching high areas safely and efficiently
- Experience with industrial painting applications such as coating large surfaces or structural components
- Familiarity with the use of paint sprayers (airless and conventional), brushes, rollers, and other application tools
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately for precise project execution
- Knowledge of safety regulations specific to construction sites including respiratory protection protocols
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities accurately
- Experience with fixture installation, restoration projects, remodeling work, concrete finishing, masonry repairs or maintenance tasks is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools essential for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites while adhering to safety standards in diverse environments
