Position Summary
The MRI Technologist administers image scans on patients to produces quality images of the designated areas of the body.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

Operates the MRI scanner to produce 3-D images.

Maintains the MRI scanning equipment in good operating order. Cleans and maintains the CAT room.

Responsible for following up with patient after procedures.

Responsible for anticipating potential patient complications regarding IV contrast.

Performs other tasks as assigned.

Ability to work between Newport News and Williamsburg offices
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology.

Knowledge in starting IVs and administration of contrast.

Skill in communicating clearly with diverse publics.

Skill in excellent customer service.

Skill in using MRI machine.

Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.

Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow written protocols.

Ability to work independently.
Education / Training / Requirements
- High School diploma/GED.
-
Six to twelve months related experience/training.
-
Completion of ARRT program.
-
Registered as an MRI Technologist.
-
Licensed in the state of Virginia.
-
CPR Certified.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Ability to sit for periods of time.

Ability to climb or balance for limited periods of time.

Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 lbs. *

Ability to grasp and hold up to 25 lbs.*
